It seems that Rachel Zoe’s pregnancy is affecting her taste and discernment.

What about that hideous Givenchy Haute Couture for the opening number? And that Valentino Vintage prom alike for the Red Carpet? And that unspeakable Vivienne Westwood???

This edition was probably one of the poorest in terms of Fashion, cause that Red Carpet BORED ME TO DEAD!

Regarding the movies, I’m really looking for to watch The King’s Speech and the 127 Hours later this week.

About the awards everything was very predictable. (I’m not going to hold myself in this topic, 'cause I didn't have the chance to watch all the movies already.)

BEST OF NEW YORK FASHION WEEK:

From the biggest four fashion weeks, NYFW it’s for sure my least favourite. The major part of the collections bored me to death and I even noticed a summerish influence in the cuts, patterns and fabrics of some designers.

This year, not even Marc Jacobs saved the week. Loved the show, not so much the polka dot garments.

Although, in the bride site of the week:

JASON WU’s collection was by far one of my absolutely favourites of NEW YORK FASHION WEEK this season. His Baroque meets Sportswear with a Ladylike accent, just blow me away!

I’m totally passionate about his transparent laced blouses, those bold coloured skirts, the nude pieces, the androgynous looks, the folk details, the graphic prints and the polka dot tights.

I also liked the DKNY, Bodkin, Carlos Miele, Christian Siriano, Erin Fetherson, Malandrino, Milly by Michelle Smith, Ralph Lauren and Yigal Azrouël collections.

SUMMER 2011 COLLECTION

Almost six months off the official calendar, José António Tenente, finally presented his so expected summer 2011 collection.

Quase 6 meses depois do calendário oficial, José António Tenente brindou-nos, finalmente, com a sua muito esperada colecção Verão 2011.

However, who thought it would be an ordinary fashion show, couldn’t be more wrong. Instead of the traditional catwalk, the designer opted for an unusual mix between a runway show and an exhibition a la Marchesa.

Desengane-se contudo, quem esperava a tradicional catwalk. Em vez disso, Tenente optou por um mix, fora do comum, entre a passerelle e a exibição das suas peças a la Marchesa.

Which means, that the guests and the media had the opportunity to appreciate and photograph the pieces in detail, before they parade on the runway.

Ou seja, os convidados e a imprensa tiveram a oportunidade de contemplar e fotografar as peças ao pormenor, antes destas desfilarem na passerelle.

This almost interactivity between the guests and the collection was a winning bet, especially when compared with his last summer fashion show at the former Coconuts in The Farol Design Hotel, in Cascais.

Esta quase interactividade entre os convidados e a colecção, foi uma aposta ganha, principalmente quando comparada com o seu último desfile de Verão, no antigo Coconuts no Farol Design em Cascais.

This collection - very geometric, with some futuristic notes, transparencies and lots of color (J’adore) - was designed specifically for this project, Assinado por Tenente. A happy collaboration between the designer and MUDE (Fashion and Arts Museum), which began last October with a exhibition curated by José António Tenente ( click here to watch).

Esta colecção - muito geométrica, com algumas notas futuristas, transparências e muita cor (como eu gosto), sem perder a assinatura Tenente no corte e nos materiais - foi pensada especialmente para este projecto, Assinado por Tenente. Uma colaboração, muito feliz por sinal, entre o criador e o MUDE, que teve inicio em Outubro de 2010, com uma mostra comissariada pelo criador. (ver aqui)

I discovered recently at this blog, the Maison Michel.

A prestigious Parisian brand (since 1936), exclusively dedicated and renowned by their exquisite head accessories as hats (my biggest fashion love), headbands and head jewelry.

Since 2006, Laetitia Crahay - the Head of accessories and jewellery at CHANEL - become also the Artistic Director and designer of Maison Michel, which explains the strong, fresh and seductive identity of the designs, that have already become essentials for all the prominent fashionistas.

This spring/summer, the Maisons lookbook was shot by the legendary, Keiser de la mode, Herr Karl Lagerfeld and features a lot of well-known cool faces as Bambi Northwood Blyth, Lou Doillon, Abbey Lee and so on.

Descobri recentemente neste blog, a Maison Michel. Uma reconhecida e prestigiada marca parisiense, que desde 1936, dedica-se exclusivamente ao fabrico de chapéus (my biggest fashion affair) e demais acessórios para o cabelo, como bandelettes e aplicações com rendas e bijoux.

Deste 2006 à frente da direcção artística da Maison Michel, Laetitia Crahay – também Head designer do departamento de jóias e acessórios da CHANEL – é a principal responsável pela identidade forte, fresca e sedutora das peças Michel, que já se tornaram bens essenciais e incontornáveis no guarda-roupa de qualquer fashionista que se preze.

Esta Primavera/Verão, Bambi Northwood Blyth, Lou Doillon e Abbey Lee são apenas três das inúmeras trendy-faces que dão vida e expressão à deliciosa colecção de chapéus e acessórios, fotografados pelo lendário Keiser de la Mode, Herr Karl Lagerfeld.

ELLE FANNING STARING RODARTE SHORT FILM:

One of my favorite it girls of the moment, the Somewhere star Elle Fanning, goes hunting for a buried gold treasure in Todd Cole's latest collaboration with Rodarte, The Curve of Forgotten Things, premiering exclusively today on NOWNESS.com (click here to watch).

The short film highlights the designs of Rodarte Sisters for this spring 2011 collection, with a 70’s North Carolina vibe mixed up with some gold rush and Asian influences. Which makes it absolutely breathtaking!

I’m completely taken by the sepia aesthetics of the short film and the golden fake eyelashes!
